Immortal Romance is everything you would expect from a game of this name. It has dark and sensual undertones that make it feel like it has a secret right under the surface. The artwork for this game is a gorgeous combination of comic book and romance novel art. The game uses almost every slot game's standard playing card symbols, but this one has a twist. Not only does it start at 9, which is rare, but the card symbols also have trinkets with them in the frame, like a book and pocket watch, which give a little character to the most standard symbol in all of the slots. Two more generic symbols include a castle and a desk, but those aren’t all the symbols.

Things get a little complicated with the remaining symbols regarding gameplay, but it isn’t as confusing as it may initially sound. You will find a scatter symbol that looks like an ornate door knocker, and a logo Wild. Four additional symbols include the game's characters, and they all have names including Amber, Troy, Michael, and Sarah. These symbols act like everyday slot symbols but with one exception.

Music and sound effects can be a drain on otherwise great slot games, but Immortal Romance is different. During regular gameplay, there is a low hum and some negligible sound effects that you would notice if you focused on them, but they are underwhelming enough that you can block them out. However, this game kicks it into high gear when you hit one of the character features, and it starts a full-fledged gothic rock song.

Features to Die For

This Vampire-themed game doesn’t have many features, but the ones they do have are to die for. The wild symbol pulls triple duty in this game because it will replace other symbols to increase your chances of winning, but it also doubles the payout for winning lines it is part of. However, that isn’t the end; the wild symbols can randomly trigger another feature called the Wild Desire feature, where wild logos can fill up your reels and give you a significant payout.

At the beginning of the game, you will choose between Amber, Troy, Michael, and Sarah, each with their own set of benefits. You can unlock their special features by hitting five of a kind on a single pay line, which plays a fun video and gives you a chance to win massive payouts.

The other feature that makes this game so much fun is the scatter feature. If you hit three scatters in one spin, you can choose a character and get ten free spins to try to hit five of a kind. Even if you don’t unlock the characters’ features, you can keep any money you win during the free spins.

Almost Perfect

The only knock anyone could possibly give this game is the dark theme, but despite being a vampire-adjacent theme, it doesn’t have many bloody or mature images. The creators of Immortal Romance did a fantastic job all around, from the aesthetics to simple yet powerful gameplay. Immortal Romance should absolutely be on every slot player’s playlist because it is incredible in every way.
